2018 Eugene M. Spiess Scholarship

Dr. Eugene M. Spiess was a Computer Information Systems instructor at Ivy Tech Community College. He was one of the key leaders responsible for establishing the Phi Theta Kappa Indiana Region and served as the second Regional Coordinator from 1993-2000. He is still a good friend to the College and Phi Theta Kappa. The Spiess Scholarship was created in 2000 with the purpose of supporting Phi Theta Kappa Indiana members reach their educational goals.

Up to $2,000 in scholarships will be awarded in 2018.

The applicants must be current members of a Phi Theta Kappa chapter in the Indiana Region.

A complete application will include the following:

  • A completed Application Form
  • An essay describing how the four Hallmarks have influenced your educational experience. Essays should be 500 words or less, typed, double spaced with name, chapter/campus noted in the top right corner.
  • A letter of support from an individual with knowledge of your activities related to one or more of the four Hallmarks.
